- Any eyesores that need screening
- Any nice views
Soil:
- Is your soil sandy/clayey/chalky
- Easy to dig
- Well drained or does it get waterlogged
- Do you know if your soil is acid/alkaline? (If not tell me what kind of plants are growing in your area
Existing structures:
- Garage/shed/summerhouse/play equipment
- Will these remain? If so please mark on plan with measurements
Existing trees/shrubs:
- Names if possible/Height/width.
- Please mark position on plan and state if these are being retained

- Are there any drain/inspection covers/ telegraph poles

How to draw a plan of your garden
On a large sheet of paper draw the boundary outline of the plot. Draw in any adjoining walls of your house, showing location of windows and doors. Draw in the outline of any permanent structures such as garage, sheds. Draw in trees and large shrubs using circles Measure each boundary line and write on plan.
